Remembering watching Crash Course: Theater several years ago, I forgot there was an episode entirely focused on the Grand Guignol, a Parisian theater focused entirely on short plays about murder and mayhem with stage gore as realistic as they could get it. Reading about it is quite wild and I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been more attempts at reviving it like they've done with cabarets and burlesques.
