Out of all the various creatures and abboritions that haunt people during the Halloween season, I feel like good old-fashioned ghosts get short shrift these days compared to vampires and zombies. Which is a shame, since all of the history, science, and stories about them are still incredibly fascinating. So let's celebrate those spooky spectres and learn more about them, shall we?

I'll be frank: I find ghost hunting to be both a little corny and tasteless (not to mention pseudoscientific...) but also find it interesting from a sociological perspective. But visiting haunted sites and doing ghost walks? Those are incredibly fun, especially if you get a guide who knows their history and can keep it entertaining.
