So last November was when I put this particular part of the blog on hiatus, feeling like I needed to reconfigure how I was setting up my posts. The old journal entries had mostly just turned into a kind of dumping ground for videos and albums I wanted to share instead of an actual, you know, journal. I’m not really one for sharing much about my personal life with strangers bluntly, preferring to dole it out through hints and tidbits instead (like a puzzle!), so I often struggled to find a way to fill up something for each day.

So I’m trying this again, seeing how it goes, and for how long I can pull it off.

Some changes from last time are going to be that I’m going to limit how much I lean on placing music and articles in these entries. If I find I can’t wait for the Albums or Articles for the Month posts, then I might add something on a given day. Otherwise, that’s where those things will belong. I may or may not also add videos, but it’ll mostly be the bullshit kind (movie trailers, music videos, etc.). One of some kind of substance (like the edutainment ones) will remain getting the Micro-post treatment instead, so that I can also provide links for further context. Also, don’t expect a lot of editing - journals work best with word vomit, and I’m going to try to follow that model this time around. The goal is to get the ideas out, not to try and polish them to high hell and then get self-conscious about what I then wrote, only to delete it out of embarrassment. You will not be receiving my best writing with these by any means, and that’s OK. Having a space to just spill out and resort to cliches, bad grammar, and punctuation is often helpful for developing better writing skills (especially if I ever write those fucking essays I keep thinking about all the time).

So, yet again, godspeed to me and here goes nothing (again).
