International Scuba Day [Something Interesting #63]

When I was coming up with the miscellanies a couple years ago, I kept lining up scuba diving as a possible topic for the next one right after backgammon but could never find the time to scrounge around for trivia and draft the damn thing. Since micro-posts and Something Interestings have been more my jam lately and today happens to also be International Scuba Day, I'm just going to celebrate by dropping all of the cool scuba diving resources and media here instead. If you've never gone diving, it's both a terrifying and exciting experience every time and you get to see all sorts of impressive sea life (unless you're diving in a quarry, which is usually murkier).
Note: There is an inherent risk involved with scuba diving and most of what is presented here is posted with the understanding that these were created by professionals with many years of experience. This is not an exhaustive set of resources and is meant to get those interested in exploring even deeper. As mentioned before, I find diving to be both scary and fun and that's generally how it is for most beginner divers. Please please please exercise caution and use best judgement when engaging in this activity!

Personally, if you're starting off I would highly recommend trying St. Thomas, USVI and specifically going through Aqua Action Dive Center.
