I actually run cool on Warhol's art (I don't get a lot out of it in person) but I've always appreciated what it did to open up the perception of what art could do and be. The fact he remains pretty divise today is a clear sign he was onto something and that's enough for me to justify his place in art history. Also if you're in Pittsburgh, the Andy Warhol Museum is a must-see.
I found out last night that it would've been his 97th birthday today so to mark that, I'm posting all of the better videos, podcast episodes, and articles I can find into a large-ish Something Interesting post so you can pick through and experience the birthday boy's life however you want.
