While doing some digital housekeeping this morning - been awake since 6 a.m. and couldn't fall back asleep - I noticed a marked difference between the type of things I was searching for a year ago versus what I've been focused on lately. The stress from the past year in all areas of my life (work, personal, from the world at large) have appeared to make me listless and I've been obsessively searching for and collecting links for the sake of it, as if to fill a hole. Part of a pattern of hoarding that I've long had (and hope to finally write about honestly one of these days), it looks like I fell back onto a bad habit yet again and need to figure out how to at least mediate, if not totally get rid of, it. Almost 40 and still dealing with those cycles...
Today's album is Re by Café Tacvba (1994) and the featured video is a 1973 BBC feature piece with reporter Fyfe Robertson about "finding the perfect pint" (it's got a delightfully goofy charm to it even if that guy complaining about draft vs. kegs is a bit obnoxious). - AB 9/23/25
