Like I mentioned yesterday, I'm finding myself in a rut with this blog and trying to figure out how to be more meaningful with it aside from just reposting things for whatever special day it is or because someone died. I almost decided that I'd stop doing these journals altogether but may instead switch focus to using writing prompts for days where I don't have anything personal to write about. Don't know, will figure it out.

This weekend, otherwise, is packed with Halloween-related parties for me and I'll be preoccupied with having a good time while also hoping my friends protesting are safe. Writing this around 2am Saturday morning before I go to sleep so I have no idea what will actually happen during the next 48 hours. If anything crops up, I might update this post or do a separate micro-post.

This weekend's album is Up at "Minton's" by Stanley Turrentine (1961) and the featured videos are a pair of compilation videos, the first from SciShow about quirky cases of domestication and the second from Great Big Story about unique things found in Japan. Saturday is International Archaeology Day, Sunday is both Breast Cancer Awareness Day and the start of National Chemistry Week. - AB 10/18/25
