I've been rather wistful this morning thinking about opportunities lost and futures untold. I'm debating with myself to set up a personal project to just bolt through the backlog of stories and essays I've been wanting to write for years, some of which might be risky for me. Fortune favors the bold but they also never really get to enjoy a quiet life, right? Getting up to 40, though, makes you think about the limited time you get despite still being relatively young and I feel like I need to speed things up if I want to meet some goals. It might not look like what I imagined initially but I'm expecting that whatever I do will surprise even me in the end and that's the most exciting part about the future. I have to remind myself: journey, not destination. - A.B. 5/19/25

P.S. Been in a city pop mood this morning as well and today's album is basically the "City Pop 101" record for those getting into it: Anri's Timely!! (1983). It's not an amazing album but it's got some catchy tracks and I've often found myself humming "I Can't Stop the Loneliness" countless times throughout the past year.

Featured image for today was photographed by Yu Kato and is a scene of Tokyo during the cherry blossom blooming. Picked it both because of the album I chose for today and because it's a striking photo.
