I've got nothing for this morning. Spouse's work issue is getting more out of hand but I don't want to talk more about that here. Any time I look at something online, I feel like I'm getting stupider. My offline life at this moment is mostly just planning for the summer and watching old television, so there's only so much to speak of there. I spent some time last night prepping future Something Interesting posts but most of those will need to sit and cook a little bit longer before I can even think about posting them (subjects include concertos, epidemiology, Korean food mentioned in Crying in H Mart, the magazine Lapham's Quarterly, and Sun Yat-sen). Otherwise the rain continues, the world trudges along, and I'm doing what I can to not just lost it. - A.B. 5/14/25
P.S. I basically have a high-schooler's understanding of classical music and little knowledge about what recordings or performances are better than others. I do love listening to it though and yesterday I was on a chamber music kick. Today's album is one of those EMI 100 compilations that you'd be able to find at CD stores for $20. It's probably not the best set if you're an aficionado but I find them enjoyable.
