Nothing much to note personally as of this morning, so this will probably be a quiet day in my life. While I’m trying to revive the daily aspect of these journal entries, I also won’t bend over backwards as I did before to try to have every day covered by something. There are just going to be days where I’ve got zip to say, so don’t be surprised if you see gaps in the archive with dates missing (especially on weekends, where I’m going to be too busy to spend time writing).

When a famous person who's made some kind of impact on my life dies, I’ll usually try to make a micro-post to mark it, but that takes some time, and not everyone has a lot to talk about. The singer Bonnie Taylor is one of those cases, as I liked some of her songs and have them well-encased in my brain, but was never a dedicated fan. I only know her for “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” but the fact she had those two hits is nothing to sneeze at, so reading Alexis Petridis’s obit about her career was interesting.

With World Cup mania right now, I forgot Wimbledon and Tour de France are both going on right now as well. Apparently, early July is prime sports time, and I should probably mark that on the calendar going forward…
