It's Tax Day and that's the least of my worries right now. I'm scared based on the current news. Legitimately scared. This feeling's been there for the last ten (in some ways, 25) years but it's now even more stressful than before. More camps are being built. Governors are being attacked. Always more reminders that I live somewhere that's being run entirely by competing cults and there's no sign of it ever stopping. I don't pine for previous decades - that's how we're in our current mess to begin with - but I was hoping for more stability as I got older. I wanted a civil society that was actually civil. We don't always get to have nice things, though, and I have no fucking clue how we're going to fix it anytime soon. - A.B. 4/15/25
