Being a huge fan of quirky animation, I always appreciate when I'm recommended something truly impressive by the algorithms amongst all of the more insularly geeky affairs from the current indie scene (being a Worthikids fan, though, makes me seem hypocritical a little bit...). A good example of one of these cases is everything produced by French animator Jonathan Djob Nkondo.

The best I can think of it is a sum total of Moebius and Afrofuturism but that feels too reductive and possibly condescending due to him not specifically listing them as such. The influences are definitely there but I feel like Nkondo has his own style in development and I'm excited to see where he goes from here.

Here are four videos of his that I'd recommend if you want to check his work out. He also has more on YouTube, Vimeo, Tumblr, and Instagram. There's also a good profile/interview with him over at Motiongrapher worth reading for more on his inspirations and insights.
