Chess boxing is one of those weird things I've come across here and there throughout the years, so I finally looked into some videos and realized "Wow, this is hilariously dorky." The term was picked up from a kung-fu movie but the "chess" there is very different from what the sport is now (which is a by-product of French comic books and Dutch performance art).
I doubt it'll ever move on into something more professional or popular, but its quirkiness is quite admirable.
