Micro-post #181: A series of video essays about the work of Mamoru Oshii by STEVEM

I caught a new trailer for the upcoming Science Saru take on Ghost in the Shell, which is exciting since it follows closer in tone and look to the original Masamune Shirow manga. It also reminded me of these videos that the YouTuber essayist STEVEM put together of the overall career of the director behind the 1995 movie version, Mamoru Oshii. While I'm not a huge fan of either that movie (I preferred GitS: Stand Alone Complex more) or Oshii's work in general (I find his stuff pretentious in a boring way), I found these deep-dives really entertaining (especially about his time on Urusei Yatsura) and have been wanting to post them here as a playlist for quite a while.
