Micro-post #112: Frank Fay, asshole father of standup comedy (Behind The Bastards)

This week's Behind The Bastards was interesting, since it appears standup comedy has reactionary views kind of baked into it from the start. Both episodes are worth listening to (especially the parts with Barbara Stanwyck) and I've provided links to the Klint Nesteroff article Robert Evans pulls from, Frank's wiki, and the original BtB episodes on Father Charles Coughlin for more context.
(Side note: if you've never read it, I highly recommend reading Nesteroff's history on the early days of American comedy called The Comedians. If there's ever an art form filled with bastards, comedy might be the potential winner...)
