Micro-post #105: Good primers on Akira Kurosawa's films

While I was in New York, I got a chance to see Seven Samurai at Film Forum as part of their recent Kurosawa 4K restoration retrospective. New Yorkers are particularly crazy about their Kurosawa it seems (my showing was sold-out with a block-long line for stand-by) and the movie is a different (personally better) experience seen in a theater with others as opposed to at home on a Blu-ray. Glad I did it and would highly recommend catching an old movie at Film Forum if you're in New York and have the opportunity.
As timing would go, I also found that Little White Lies released a good video about Kurosawa's pivotal works while this was all going on so I figure the time's right to share it and some others for those who haven't had a chance to sit and enjoy his work (the Chris Marker documentary A.K. - about the making of Ran - is especially excellent as an overview and is a great work itself).
